On July 24, 2024, a training session on both organic and mineral fertilizer production was held in the meeting room of the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate headquarters in Muhanga District, Southern Province. The session was conducted by Mr. Jean de Dieu Nsengiyumva, who is in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate.

This training follows a previous one organized by AGRITERRA through its ACTING NOW project, which took place in Musanze District, Northern Province, from May 12 to 17, 2024. The event brought together various partners, including the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate. Participants from that training committed to transferring the skills they acquired to farmers in their respective areas.

Staff members who attended the recent training emphasized their next steps: sharing the knowledge with farmers and ensuring the application of these techniques to increase agricultural yields.

Mr. Prosper Dutonnyekumana, an agronomist at the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate, highlighted this commitment: “After this training, we are going to teach farmers how to make fertilizer and pesticides, and apply these techniques in their daily activities to boost productivity.”
