During the closing ceremonies of Cassava Week 2024, the Vice Chairperson of Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate, Mr. Jean Pierre Habimana, expressed gratitude to all partners involved in organizing the event. He called on cassava farmers to apply the knowledge and experience gained during the event to boost production and utilize improved seeds to increase yields.

Throughout the event, particularly on the closing day, participants engaged in idea exchanges, group discussions, and skills-building interactions. As a result, Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate developed a series of transformative strategies aimed at enhancing cassava production. Mr. Habimana emphasized, “Our goal is to use improved seeds of higher quality and quantity, adopt transformational agricultural practices, expand access to financial support, promote climate-smart agriculture, and explore new market opportunities at national, regional, and international levels, among other ambitious plans.”

To address financial challenges, Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate signed a partnership agreement worth 1,000,000,000 Rwf with Duterimbere IMF PLC. This agreement is expected to improve access to loans for cassava farmers across the country. Duterimbere IMF PLC is known for its expertise in working with farmers, women and youth empowerment, and its long history of collaboration with rural communities.

Farmers and cooperative representatives who participated in the event expressed their gratitude to Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate and its partners for their tireless efforts in promoting agriculture. They declared their readiness to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during the week, which will help them adopt better farming technologies and innovative solutions to increase production.
