On Friday, June 27th, 2025, the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate was honored as the Best Exhibitor in the Primary Production/Crop category during the 18th Rwanda Agriculture Show themed “LEVERAGING INNOVATION AND INVESTMENT FOR BUILDING RESILIENT AND SUSTAINABLE AGRI- FOOD SYSTEMS” This recognition came among more than 500 exhibitors from both local and international backgrounds. The event took place at the Mulindi Show Ground in Kanombe, Gasabo District, City of Kigali.
During the exhibition, Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate showcased Zai Pit Technology, an innovative solution that has significantly boosted cassava productivity. Before the implementation of this technique through the Gwiza-Muhinzi Project, funded by the European Union, cassava farmers could harvest no more than 14 tonnes per hectare. However, with Zai Pit Technology, yields have increased to over 50 tonnes per hectare.
The Syndicate used the platform to call on cassava farmers to adopt this game-changing technique to improve crop yields. Visitors to our exhibition stand showed great interest in the technology and pledged to implement it on their farms or encourage fellow farmers to do the same.
At the official opening of the Agri-Show on June 20th, 2025, the Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Dr. Mark Cyubahiro Bagabe, emphasized that “Agriculture is the backbone of our economy.” He urged farmers and all stakeholders to embrace innovative and technological solutions to enhance agricultural productivity.
