On April 17th, 2025, a training session was held at the Lucerna Hotel in Muhanga District, Southern Province. The event brought together over 100 cooperative leaders from the 10 districts covered by projects implemented by the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate.

The training, organized under the Gwiza-Muhinzi Project, aimed to educate participants on the new law regulating cooperatives and to strengthen their knowledge of effective cooperative management. Leaders were urged to comply with the updated legal framework and to lead their cooperatives in accordance with its guidelines.
Speaking at the event, Mr. François Xavier Mbabazi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate, emphasized the key elements of sound cooperative management. These include proper record-keeping, timely and accurate information sharing among members, and a clear understanding of internal rules and regulations.
Mr. Mbabazi also reminded the participants of the values expected of cooperative leaders: integrity, trustworthiness, humanity, dignity, and a commitment to promoting the collective interest over personal gain. He encouraged them to keep all cooperative regulations readily available in their offices, review them regularly, and ensure they are consistently upheld in their daily operations.
