Rwanda’s Cassava Platform Committees Champion Innovation and Growth

On October 30, 2025, the Rwanda Cassava Platform Committee convened at Lucerna Hotel in Muhanga District, Southern Province, for a landmark meeting under the Gwiza-Muhinzi Project, an initiative powered by the European Union to drive innovation and growth within Rwanda’s cassava sector.

The event brought together passionate stakeholders from 10 Districts where the project is being implemented, all united by a common goal — to accelerate progress and strengthen cassava platforms at the district level.

Throughout the discussions, participants emphasized collaboration, accountability, and innovation as key pillars to transform cassava production into a more competitive and profitable value chain. District Cassava Platform Committees pledged to lead with professionalism, foster innovation, and champion positive change within their communities.

Their collective commitment signals a new chapter for Rwanda’s cassava industry — one defined by shared knowledge, smart partnerships, and a determination to seize emerging opportunities for farmers, processors, and entrepreneurs alike.

With the Gwiza-Muhinzi Project setting the pace, Rwanda’s cassava value chain is on track to become a model of inclusive and sustainable agricultural transformation.
