Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate Engages in High-Level Northern Corridor Agribusiness Dialogue in Nairobi

On 19–20 February 2026, the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate proudly participated in the Northern Corridor and Agribusiness Consultative Meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya. Convened by African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) and European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM), the strategic forum brought together key stakeholders to accelerate regional collaboration and investment across the Northern Corridor.

Building on the success of the Lobito Corridor Dialogue model, the meeting convened senior government officials from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, alongside private sector leaders, financial institutions, and development partners. The dialogue aimed to catalyze integrated investments and policy alignment at the intersection of food security, trade, infrastructure development, and climate action.

Representing Rwanda’s agricultural producers, the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate contributed valuable grassroots perspectives and practical insights to discussions on climate-resilient development, green industrialization, and sustainable food systems. Their participation ensured that smallholder farmers’ realities and opportunities remained central to regional planning and investment strategies.

Key thematic discussions focused on:

Green Fertilizer Production – Participants explored opportunities to leverage green hydrogen technologies to develop regional green ammonia and fertilizer production capacity, improving soil fertility while reducing environmental impact.

Climate-Smart Agri-Logistics – Stakeholders examined ways to strengthen logistics infrastructure along the corridor to reduce post-harvest losses, improve storage and transportation systems, and enhance intra-regional agricultural trade.

The meeting featured plenary sessions, thematic breakout discussions, and networking engagements designed to foster practical partnerships and identify actionable investment opportunities. For the Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate, the convening provided a valuable platform to connect with policymakers, investors, and development partners committed to transforming regional agri-food systems.

Participation in this high-level dialogue underscores the Syndicate’s commitment to advancing climate-smart agriculture, strengthening regional market linkages, and promoting sustainable livelihoods for farmers. By contributing to conversations shaping the Northern Corridor’s agricultural future, Ingabo Farmers’ Syndicate continues to champion resilient farming systems and inclusive economic growth across the region.

As regional cooperation deepens, such engagements reinforce the critical role of farmer organizations in shaping policies and investments that ensure food security, environmental sustainability, and shared prosperity for communities across East and Central Africa.
